Eagle Mountain, CA

The location for principal photography was Eagle Mountain, CA. It was a great location to portray a post apocalyptic world, I arrived at the site at it was blisteringly hot, undeniably the desert. I didn’t care really because I was enjoying all of the cast and crew gathered and all of the equipment set up for the shoot.

I really had a blast that day. Afterward I geeked out a little bit. I walked away from the set realizing that I recognized RUST’s lead actor, Pat Healy. Unashamedly, I am a Michael Bay fan, and I remembered that Pat had a role in the movie Pearl Harbor. Coincidentally, he played a photographer. I had also recognized him from the movie, Draft Day. So again, I geeked out a little bit. For the remainder of shooting the production stills, I would try to ask Pat questions about his career, while still doing my job. I’m a movie fan, what can I say? To this day, the film's producer, Marcus Wada, still teases me about how excited I was to work near and photograph Pat.
