Greetings to you, from the future.

I’m writing this website page, like many, incredible out of order and whenever life allows me to have a moment to catch on my website. This particular page is coming at a great time, though after a lengthy hiatus of being without a true workspace. That has been remedied as of August 2021. So hello, from September of 2021, from my office/studio in Mission Junction LA! I was finally able to get my hard drives out of storage, a new Mac up and running and most importantly format 9 different storage cards that containing lots of random images from 2019-2021. Everything was there from travel overseas, to pre pandemic, to lots of “extras” or random moments from around Los Angeles during Covid quarantine orders.

I’ve decided to make a change to how I post and share these “extra” images to this website. Again these shots aren’t part of a full or professional shoot or creative narrative, but I like sharing what my eye sees and love having this website to share them. I’ve decided to rename these kinds of pages as “journals” for whatever month the images were created. I finally realized that, that is what I’ve really been doing with these extra images all along: creating a visual journal of what I see around me during the months of the year. I enjoy sharing what was happening visually as well as sharing some things going on for me internally or personally. So without further adieu, welcome to my visual journal from January of 2020.

It all seemed so normal…

Who knew a global pandemic was coming? Some maybe, but certainly not me. Who knew the life of an NBA superstar would be tragically lost here in LA county very soon? Definitely no one. Early 2020 had a lot of promise. I’m very spiritual about new beginnings and was incredibly hopeful about the start of a new decade. Yes technically the new decade didn’t being until 2021 because there never was a Year 0 in history, but the cleanliness of that 0 is really nice. 2020: it had a nice ring to it. Oh well…

As always, I was eager to start the year shooting something, anything and God offered a nice sunset sky to start things off on New Year’s Day. Per usual, I was doing some Uber driving, and has some nice kids as passengers. Anyone younger than 25 is now a kid to me.) Always eager to photograph strangers who will let me, they agreed that the sunset was pretty awesome and posed for a cute shot. I hope they are still dating…

Sometimes I just cannot remember what parking lot I wandered into or what mountain I am viewing, but a great view nonetheless…

Most Uber driving days, pre-pandemic anyway, would sendup on the west side at LAX. I started shamelessly snapping nice sunrise photos while I the LAX traffic circle. The second photo was a continuation of that great sunrise after leaving the airport. The third…can’t remember where, but great skies are forever plenteous in LA:

This was another fun little moment that happened because of an Uber ride. (name) was heading to Lake Hollywood Park and it was for a really sweet reason. I didn’t get all the details but apparently he was going there to apologize to a lady friend. The Hollywood sign was important between him and this young lady and he wanted to photograph his apology while standing in front of the sign. How great. Afterward, he took my camera and snapped a few of me. Cool dude. After that, we became buddies on Instagram.

I remember when I posted these to Instagram, I took the time to stamp out the trash behind the bunny, but for the website, I’ll let it fly. This is the truth of LA.
