jumpman…

My friend, comedian, Eddie Furth and I go way way back. Like 6 years old, upstart basketball teammates…that far back. Since us living in LA for almost 10 years, it’s been a joy to watch him blossom professionally. In particular, it’s been a blast to watch him fully embrace his brand and look as “the guy with the bowtie.” When he asked me to capture some new portraits of him, he texted wondering what color fit he should wear for the shoot. I knew, having shot in downtown Santa Monica with our mutual friend, Kayla, that there would be plenty of variation in backgrounds and colors, and that we’d find some good images no matter what color his fit would be.

When he arrived, I was definitely thrown off, suprised, and impressed by his choice of pink. In fact, that was one of the first things he said to me which made me laugh, “You didn’t see the pink coming did you?” Nope.

Really fun day capturing him with his pink ensemble from Paisley and Gray. Great mix of Eddie’s classy and raucous energy. In particular, I have to shout out his jumping split shot in front of a very complimentary alley mural: honestly, one of my favorite images capture ever. Eddie says he’d love to blow it up and have it hang in his living room someday. That’d be an honor and blast.
