Darin Guerrasio and I come from the same hometown, Stamford, CT.  We attended Stamford High School at the same time (he is 2 years my senior) and he was a fantastic actor starring in many productions. He has continued his craft is fully a professional now. Not to name-drop, (though I am about to name-drop) but he landed a role in Oliver Stone's 2010 film, "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps."

Please be sure to check out Darin's website and his IMDB page.  (and a very hilarious sketch I just stumbled upon)

I had heard of his engagement through Facebook and was beyond floored and honored when he asked me if I would be willing to be his wedding photographer. I therefore, had the pleasure of meeting his lovely fiancé, Amanda.  She is sweet, funny and genuine as well.  Though I haven't had the pleasure of seeing her perform (yet) I hear that she is a great actress and comedienne.  Darin truly met his match.

I suggested that we hold an engagement session prior to the wedding day. We had a great stroll through Central Park, walking, talking, finding light and taking photographs. There was even a great moment with a local troubadour:

I love having friends in acting/theatre because the laughs are non-stop. Here are two funny moments that made their way into the set.

Moment number one...

Hey, when you gotta go, you gotta go...

This "porta-potty" bit was an idea that they came up with on the fly and it was hilarious.  I've never had anyone use a prop like that during an engagement shoot:

Moment number two...

I envisioned an image where the couple was playfully running towards the camera. I asked them to make it light and jovial. It was working, minus one problem...

Darin was following Amanda a little too closely. I let him know and I politely directed him, "Darin, it just looks like you're creeping behind her, not following her playfully." So naturally, the next time they tried it, without me prompting them to, they did this:

That killed me.

Here is the look I was really going for...
